Primary Care CORPS

The Primary Care CORPS provides both in person and online opportunities for students to explore in and engage with primary care career options and professionals in the field. Primary Care refers to the care provided by physicians specifically trained for and skilled in comprehensive first contact and continuing care for an individual. Primary care physicians are the general care providers ensuring a healthy person, family, and community. Specific primary care professions include:

  • Medical Doctor

  • Physician Assistant

  • Nurse Practitioner

  • Registered Nurse

  • Medical Assistant

  • Community Health Worker

  • Health Navigator

The Primary Care CORPS connects individuals to:

  • Job Opportunities

  • Mentors and Advising

  • Clinical Experience

  • Events such as Guest Speakers, Symposiums, and Networking Opportunities

  • Engage in Policy Discussions and Advocacy

The Primary Care CORPS is an initiative by a unique partnership between health employers, educators, and community organizations in the East Bay. The goal is to engage, provide resources, and support the next generation of health sector employees while ensuring a diverse, culturally competent and local workforce.
